Parenting

Parenting work is about facilitating the emergence of your identity as a parent and empowering you to nurture your child in a way that responds to their developmental needs and fosters their growth.

Having children is a uniquely challenging, confusing, life-changing, empowering, and meaningful experience—and one that most parents face without any training or formal support. Shifting from adulthood into parenthood is a monumental transition, a change in identity, worldview, and daily life.

Children often unintentionally shine a light on that with which we struggle most. Our unresolved childhood experiences come into the foreground. Areas of personhood with which we grapple move into focus.

Parenting becomes infinitely harder and more confusing when our own struggles go unaddressed. So let’s understand what you are experiencing, and address your and your child’s needs.

I bring extensive knowledge of childhood development, and 12+ years of working with parents and children to help you with:

separation

attachment

emotional regulation

Parenting work is about:

  • We’ll explore your sense of self as a parent. We’ll see how your identity has been impacted by this big life change and where you’re needing support, compassion, or further understanding.

  • Contemplating the parent we'd like to become brings up all that we experienced in our own journey through life. Reflecting on this and processing these experiences is crucial to developing your own identity.

  • I bring my understanding of child development into our work to help you understand what your child is going through and working on in any given moment and learn how to best meet them where they are at.

  • As we understand all that parenthood is bringing up for you, explore how your child is challenging you, and develop your confidence and knowledge, we’ll awaken the truest you: a parent who is grounded, reflective, and attuned to their child.
